Please join us in welcoming Matt Goings to Mark Vitek CPA, P.A. Matt returns to our team full-time as a Senior Staff Accountant (was formerly an intern with our CPA firm). He is an Alumni from North Carolina State University with a degree in Accounting Information Systems and has an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Matt is married to his wife, Daryl, for 8 years and has a 2 year old son, Marshall, and had a beautiful baby girl, Carter, on Monday!
He will be working on our tax and accounting team with Dave, Janice, Nicole, and myself to continue to help provide excellent service to our successful business and individual clients.

In order for us to get all client’s tax returns completed by April 15th in a quality fashion, we request all clients drop off or mail us all of their information by March 17, 2023. Otherwise, we will do our best, but we cannot guarantee completion of tax returns without extending the returns to October 18, 2023.
Please note that our office is closing at 6:00 pm on Friday, April 14th and will not reopen until 9:00 am on Wednesday, April 19th.

In this September edition, we are pleased to announce the hiring and permanent addition of Nicole Karwowski as a Staff Accountant of our CPA Firm.
Nicole has been working with our firm for over 2 tax seasons as an intern and is a December 2021 graduate of Meredith College.
She will be working full-time on our tax and accounting team with Dave, Janice and myself to continue to help provide excellent service to our successful business and individual clients.

Due to IRS Notice 2020-18 and the postponement of the April 15th deadline to July 15, 2020, no Federal or NC extensions are necessary on April 15, 2020.

It is “OK” to File an Extension
March 25, 2020 | No. 477
Please take notice of our office closing date. Our office will be closing at 6:00pm on Tuesday, April 14th and will not reopen until Monday, April 20th, 2020 at 9am.
If you haven’t filed your tax return by now, you should probably consider filing for an extension.
To file for an extension, you simply need to submit Form 4868. Submitting this form will give you until October 15th of that year to file your returns. However, an extension of the time to file is not an extension of the time to pay. If you think you will owe taxes, you must send a payment along with the extension. This applies for your federal and state tax returns.
